The quality (fit and finish) are top-notch and the security features couldn’t be beat for the cost of this 23-gun model. I shopped a few other brands but couldn’t find anything with the ratings or warranty that I could live with. Great mid-line gun safe from Liberty. It arrived in great condition and installers were in and out in an hour taking the safe to my designated location and bolting it to the floor. Took a few times to get the combination to work but haven’t had any problems since. Very heavy duty and great quality. It both looks and feels secure. I have friends that went the other direction with Chinese made safes and I can tell you that this Liberty safe is far more secure. Stick with USA made safes.

Went to the showroom to see this safe. Needed a safe to hold my firearms as well as personal items. This is safe is perfect for that and is well designed. Fire protection was a big priority for me and this safe has that. Lifetime Warranty was a deciding factor as well. Picked up mine at West Coast Safes. Excellent service and staff. This is the second Liberty safe that I purchased. The main reason for buying this brand is because it is American made, the quality is excellent for the price and overall it looks great. When a company offers you a lifetime warranty that tells you a lot about the product. There are a lot of other well built safes but I think you get a great safe at a very reasonable price.

I am very happy with my new Colonial 23, and am impressed with its workmanship and quality. However, the interior shelving and racks are made from particle board, which crumbles slightly, even when removed/installed as directed in the Use & Care Manual. To ensure more durability and longevity of these interior components, I highly suggest manufacturing them from something more durable, such as solid wood. In addition, the center divider is too short to support the top shelf in my safe because I had to install the shelf at it’s uppermost limit. I did this because my vintage firearms are quite long, but now the top shelf is installed so high, that the center divider does not fit into the shelf’s mortise and cannot support it as intended. As such, I can only store light items on the shelf, which makes it almost unusable. Since not everyone owns firearms this long, I recommend that Liberty provide an optional long divider to accommodate longer firearms.

Also the much nicer looking black chrome hardware. This isn’t a cheap Chinese safe… this is quality USA made stuff! 1 hour fire rating…
